Emily Liles is a multimedia sports journalist working as a club journalist at Aston Villa Football Club.

 

In her current role, she works as part of the digital content team - producing written and broadcast copy for the club's official website, covering first team, U23, Academy and ladies teams.

 

Emily also helps manage the club's social media accounts - Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

While studying for her BA (Hons) Sports Journalism degree at Staffordshire University, she previously produced copy for The Non-League Paper, League Express and Everton Football Club as well as regularly contributing to a host of other print and online publications.


Between 2012 and 2014, Emily reported on Kidderminster Harriers matches for 102.5 The 'Bridge (Now Black Country Radio), updating listeners live throughout games and working on commentary teams.

 

Throughout the 2013-2014 campaign, she was given the opportunity to become part of the media team at Accrington Stanley Football Club, working closely alongside the club journalist to ensure website, programme and matchday duties were fulfilled.

 

Emily also has NCTJ qualifications in Shorthand (100wpm), Essential Media Law and Sports Journalism. She also studied Football Culture at University to further her knowledge.

​

In order to enhance understanding of football, Emily completed a Talent Identification In Football Scouting Course (Level Two) with the PFSA (Professional Football Scouts Association) in March 2017.
